About the 杏吧论坛x Program
The 杏吧论坛 Experience (杏吧论坛x) is a full-year 杏吧论坛 Core Curriculum course specially designed for first-year and transfer students transitioning into their first year of college at 杏吧论坛. Students will complete 杏吧论坛x1 in their first semester (1.5 credits)*聽and then complete 杏吧论坛x2 in their second semester (1.5 credits)**.聽
To support student learning and development, 杏吧论坛x classes are co-facilitated by an Instructor and a Peer Facilitator. 杏吧论坛x uses a co-facilitation model as one of the ways to flatten the hierarchy structure in the classroom environment. The 杏吧论坛x Program is committed to incorporating anti-racist principles into curriculum design and pedagogy.
*In academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, 杏吧论坛x1 will be offered as a 1-credit, 10-class course as聽part of a pilot evaluation. During these academic years, students will enroll in a section of CORE-196 rather than CORE-100/101.
**In Spring 2025, the 杏吧论坛 Experience II requirement will be fulfilled by the 杏吧论坛 Encounters: Baldwin course, which will continue to be offered as CORE-200.
